Four US-based financial and insurance firms have announced key leadership appointments and promotions in the last 24hrs.
USAA has appointed Dan Griffiths (pictured left) as chief information officer effective February 5. His priority will be secure platforms and reliable digital services, the firm said.
Griffiths most recently served as group chief information officer of Santander US and Santander Bank globally and previously held senior technology roles at TD Bank, Barclays Capital, Lehman Brothers, and JPMorgan Chase.
“Technology is how members experience our promise,” Griffiths said.
In Chicago, AAM Insurance Investment Management said Dan Byrnes (pictured right), CFA, has been named chief executive officer effective April 4, succeeding John Schaefer, who will become a senior adviser.
Byrnes, currently president and senior portfolio manager, will oversee strategy, operations, and client relationships. He thanked Schaefer for his leadership and pledged to continue AAM’s client-focused approach.
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has promoted Chris Polechronis to head of financial institutions in the US.
Polechronis, who joined BHSI in 2014 and was most recently co-head of the segment, will now lead the company’s financial institutions business nationwide.
Shelley Norman, BHSI’s executive and professional lines field leader, cited Polechronis’ role in the portfolio’s profitable growth over the past decade.
Advocus National Title Insurance Company, in a bid to scale its underwriting platform nationwide, has appointed Kelli Fogarty as executive vice president for business development and Stan Czaja as executive vice president and general manager.
Advocus president Jill Cadwell said the move aims to enhance service, modernize operations, and support growth while maintaining the company’s attorney-focused, consumer-protection mission.
Fogarty and Czaja will work alongside founders Peter J. Birnbaum and Henry L. Shulruff, who remain active in guiding Advocus’ strategy and operations.
