A pair of senior leadership moves have been announced in the US insurance and wholesale brokerage markets. NJM Insurance group has added a seasoned supermarket executive to its board, while Brown & Riding has named a new national casualty practice leader.
NJM Insurance Group has elected Joseph Colalillo (pictured, left), president of ShopRite of Hunterdon County, to its board of directors.
Colalillo brings decades of experience in retail operations, business management and community engagement. Under his leadership, ShopRite of Hunterdon has expanded as a family-run organization known for its customer service, local partnerships and philanthropic initiatives.
Colalillo also serves on the boards for the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and the Wakefern Food Corporation. He is a past chair and current member of FMI's Food Safety Committee.
“Joe’s commitment to community and his extensive business expertise make him an outstanding addition to our board of directors,” said Edward Stern, NJM’s board chair.
Wholesale broker Brown & Riding has appointed Adam Lowe (pictured, right) as national casualty practice leader.
Lowe joined Brown & Riding in 2017 and was named a principal in 2023. In his new role, he will focus on supporting the continued growth of the casualty practice, strengthening collaboration among brokers and ensuring clients receive high‑quality solutions and service as they navigate what the firm described as an ever‑changing casualty marketplace.
“I’m honored to step into the role of national casualty practice land excited to continue advancing the specialization and growth of our casualty practice,” Lowe said. “As the casualty market grows increasingly complex, our continued investment in hyper‑focused industry expertise and internal collaboration positions us to build on the strong foundation and momentum established under Chris’s [Chris Brown, chairman] leadership.”
