A series of leadership announcements have been made across the insurance industry.
MetLife has announced that Adrienne O’Neill (pictured above, left) will join as executive vice president and chief accounting officer, effective September 2, 2025.
O’Neill will lead corporate accounting and financial reporting, including financial planning and analysis. She will report to CFO John McCallion.
O’Neill previously spent 18 years at Manulife Financial Corporation, holding roles including CFO for Asia, global controller, and head of investor relations. She succeeds interim CAO Toby Srihiran Brown, who will continue as executive vice president and global head of reinsurance.
CRC Benefits, part of CRC Group, has hired David May (pictured above, center) as an ancillary benefits sales executive in Nashville. May joins with more than five years of industry experience, focusing on dental, vision, disability, life, and worksite products.
In his new role, May will work with brokers to build ancillary benefit strategies, including physician and attorney group disability coverage. He previously represented small group ancillary benefits across Tennessee.
Crum & Forster (C&F) has appointed Dave Webb (pictured above, right) as senior vice president for its stop loss business within the accident & health division’s medical business unit. Webb brings three decades of underwriting experience in stop loss and medical reinsurance.
He most recently served as vice president of underwriting at Medical Risk Managers and has held leadership roles at Swiss Re and HM Insurance Group.
Wholesale brokerage Brown & Riding has named Pete Sayer as senior vice president within its national property practice.
Sayer, based in South Florida, brings more than 20 years of experience in shared and layered property placements.
Sayer joins from a background serving complex property accounts and will work closely with clients and underwriters across the firm. Brown & Riding leadership said the hire reflects a continued focus on expanding specialized capabilities within its property division.
Ethos, a life insurance technology firm, has appointed William J. Wheeler to its board of directors.
Wheeler, who brings more than 30 years of experience in financial services, previously served as vice chairman and president at Athene Holding, a retirement services provider under Apollo Global Management. He also held senior roles at MetLife, including president of the Americas and chief financial officer.
Wheeler currently sits on the board of Evercore Inc., where he chairs the audit committee and serves on the compensation committee. He has previously held board roles at Athora Holding and Venerable Holdings, and participated in the American Council of Life Insurers.
Ethos CEO Peter Colis said Wheeler’s background in insurance and retirement will support the company’s ongoing efforts to expand access to digital life insurance.
