Moves span broker relations, IT transformation, and regional management across the specialty market

Several insurers and specialty distributors have made executive appointments and leadership changes in their North American operations.

AXA XL head of broker relations

AXA XL has named Liz Rychling (pictured above, left) as head of broker relations for large commercial and mid-market business in the Americas. Based in New York, Rychling reports to Matt O'Malley, chief client and distribution officer for AXA XL in the Americas.

Rychling brings more than 25 years of experience in risk management, insurance, legal, and strategic leadership. She most recently served as senior vice president of risk management at MGM Resorts International, where she oversaw global insurance programs, legal and claims teams, and led property, casualty, and financial lines operations across multiple properties worldwide.

Her career also includes leadership roles at AIG, El Ad Group, and Las Vegas Sands Corp. Rychling began her career in law, specializing in insurance defense.

In her new position, she will be responsible for designing and implementing distribution programs, liaising with broker partners, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with internal teams on productivity and service quality.

Allianz Commercial head of IT

Allianz Commercial has appointed Perry Canning (pictured above, right) to the newly created role of head of information technology in North America.

Based in Minneapolis, Canning will oversee all IT matters, support business growth, lead IT transformation, and drive artificial intelligence adoption across the region.

He will also lead the North America-based IT team on local matters while ensuring alignment with global guidelines and initiatives.

Canning joins from Allianz Technology, where he served as head of IT for commercial North America, managing technology infrastructure and insurance systems. His career spans 23 years with Allianz across multiple leadership roles.

Burns & Wilcox leadership transitions

Burns & Wilcox has announced several leadership transitions within its operations. Sam Carson, formerly vice president of operations, has been named vice president and managing director, overseeing the company's Chicago and Milwaukee offices.

Carson will lead alongside Erica Rangel, associate managing director in Chicago. He has held multiple roles supporting underwriting, business development, and operations during his more than 15 years with the company.

O'Neil Franso, previously vice president of human resources, has transitioned to vice president of operations. Franso has spent more than a decade in HR leadership, working as a partner and advisor to Burns & Wilcox field leadership and the executive team.

Rahmad Bauldrick and Laura McCormick, both formerly associate vice presidents and regional practice group leaders for professional liability, have been promoted to vice president. They will continue expanding the company's professional liability products.

The company has also promoted Kris Guasch to associate managing director in Fort Lauderdale, Jenna Zalud to associate managing director in Milwaukee, and Ashley Poe to associate managing director in Charlotte.
