Higginbotham, a Texas-based insurance and financial services firm, has expanded its Midwest footprint by partnering with Roehr Insurance, a property and casualty agency based in Cincinnati.

The partnership marks Higginbotham’s latest move in its national expansion strategy and gives Roehr access to broader support services and market reach. The firm, headquartered in Fort Worth, is employee-owned and has pursued partnerships with firms that prioritise client service and community ties.

“Roehr Insurance had built something special,” said Higginbotham chairman and CEO Rusty Reid (pictured above, left). “Their growth speaks to the strength of their leadership and the loyalty they’ve earned. We’re proud to be in Cincinnati with a team that shares our values.”

Roehr Insurance was founded in 2012 by CEO Alvin Roehr (pictured above, right) and has grown into one of Cincinnati’s largest locally owned agencies, employing 26 people and serving clients in nearly every US state. The firm has relied exclusively on organic growth, averaging more than 20% annually over the past five years.

The decision to join Higginbotham was driven in part by a desire to expand into new specialty markets while maintaining the firm’s autonomy and culture.

“We were looking for a partner who could support our momentum without changing our identity,” said Roehr president Carmine DiLonardo. “Higginbotham gives us the tools and resources to pursue larger accounts and develop our team internally.”

Roehr said the move also addressed long-term continuity planning. “This isn’t an exit — it’s about ensuring the firm is sustainable in the long run,” he said. “With Higginbotham behind us, we’re better positioned for future growth.”

Clients are expected to continue working with their existing Roehr contacts, with added access to expanded resources in areas such as legal, analytics, and risk management.

“Higginbotham isn’t here to change us,” said Roehr. “They’re here to enhance what we already do well.”
