GEICO is further strengthening its operations in Texas, with the opening of its second office building in Richardson, as well as a new sponsorship with the Dallas Cowboys.
The newly opened 165,000-square-foot building at Mapletree's Galatyn Commons represents the latest phase of GEICO's growth in the region. GEICO also confirmed it has signed a lease for a third adjacent building and plans to add another 1,000 employees across its three Richardson locations over the next two years.
Since December 2024, the insurer has announced 2,500 new jobs in North Texas, supporting sales, service and claims functions.
Also part of its strategic expansion, the company announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with the Dallas Cowboys. The partnership includes in-stadium signage, digital media integration and community engagement initiatives across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
“When we began expanding here just over a year ago, we knew North Texas had something special to offer,” said Jason Andrukonis, GEICO’s Richardson campus leader and head of commercial insurance operations. “What we have found has surpassed even our highest expectations. Today, with a third building in Richardson, we are putting down roots for the long haul and our partnership with the Dallas Cowboys is a reflection of that commitment.”
Commenting on the new business, Richardson Mayor Amir Omar said GEICO's expansion reflects confidence in the city and its workforce.
“GEICO’s continued expansion in Richardson is a strong vote of confidence in our city, our workforce, and our business environment,” Omar said. “We’re proud that Richardson is home to a company investing at this scale and helping shape the future of North Texas’ economy.”
GEICO said the North Texas talent pool and business environment have supported its ability to expand operations and serve customers across personal and commercial insurance lines while increasing employment in the region.
Longstanding ties to Texas
GEICO, which is marking its 90th anniversary this year, was founded in Fort Worth in 1936. Its Dallas regional office opened in June 1986 to support expansion across the Southwest and Midwest, and the company relocated to its current Greenville Avenue office in 2016.
GEICO’s recent expansion began in December 2024, when it designated its Greenville office as a hub for commercial insurance operations and announced 500 new positions.
In March 2025, the company revealed plans for its first Galatyn Commons building and more than 1,000 additional jobs. The newly leased Galatyn Commons building will be GEICO’s third site in the area. Once fully operational, the company will occupy nearly 600,000 square feet across its three North Texas buildings.
GEICO said the investment is intended to support service delivery across the customer lifecycle, from quoting through claims handling.
