MSIG USA has named David Petrone as distribution leader for its Northeast region. Petrone brings more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and will report to Joseph Fitzpatrick, head of distribution for the company.
Prior to joining MSIG USA, Petrone held leadership positions at major industry firms. Most recently, he served as major accounts New York zone leader at Chubb, where he was responsible for client strategy and revenue development across one of the insurer's key geographic markets.
Before his tenure at Chubb, he spent more than 10 years at Marsh as managing director and senior client executive. In that role, he managed large commercial accounts and provided risk advisory services to Fortune 1000 clients.
Fitzpatrick said Petrone brings a history of strengthening relationships with brokers and clients while supporting strategic growth efforts.
"His depth of experience and market credibility make him an exceptional addition to our team as we expand our presence and deliver value to our Northeast partners,” Fitzpatrick said.
In his new position, Petrone will oversee distribution strategy in the Northeast, support underwriting functions through market intelligence, and work to build stronger engagement with brokers and clients throughout the region.
Petrone holds a bachelor of science degree in finance and economics from William Paterson University.
Petrone’s appointment follows a series of leadership additions at MSIG USA. Recent appointments include Kent Ziegler as chief financial officer and chief administrative officer, and Siobhan O’Brien as head of cyber insurance.
The appointment also comes as MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings Inc., MSIG USA’s parent company, pursues a ¥700 billion (approximately $5 billion) investment strategy aimed at expanding its footprint in North America.
The group has stated its intention to double its operating profit in the region by FY2030, with targeted investments supporting both organic growth and acquisitions. Regional leadership roles, such as the one Petrone now occupies, are considered key to executing this plan.
