Alliant Insurance Services said B.J. Givens has joined the firm as a senior vice president in its Employee Benefits Group, expanding its employee benefits presence in the Southeast.

Based in Nashville, Tennessee, Givens will work with clients nationally on benefits strategy and workforce-related consulting, the company said.

“B.J. brings an employee-centric approach that aligns with Alliant’s commitment to designing benefits programs that promote affordability, access, and meaningful support for their employees,” said Kevin Overbey, president of Alliant Employee Benefits.

Overbey added, “His ability to combine strategic planning with innovative engagement solutions ensures real value for both our clients and their people.”

The hire adds to a series of 2025 staffing moves inside Alliant’s Employee Benefits Group as the broker expands its bench across regions.

In September, Alliant appointed Chris Amery as a senior vice president in the Employee Benefits Group, and noted that Amery’s background includes advising employers ranging from middle market firms to organizations with more than 100,000 employees.

Alliant said Givens’ work will center on benefit design, employee engagement and well-being strategies. The firm said his focus includes benefit and wellness initiatives tied to organizational goals, along with approaches tied to affordability and access to care.

Before joining Alliant, Givens served as senior vice president and national growth leader at a global insurance brokerage and consulting firm, Alliant said. The company did not name the previous employer.

Givens holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Belmont University.

The benefits appointment also comes as Alliant continues to grow the broader organization through acquisitions in other business lines.

In November, Alliant bought Highpoint Insurance Group in Friendswood, Texas, describing it as the company’s second Texas acquisition in a month following its acquisition of McAfee Insurance Agency in Mercedes.
