NFP, an Aon company and property and casualty broker, has launched a new Spanish-language auto insurance platform tailored for US drivers traveling into Mexico.

The program, called Conduzco Seguros, was developed in partnership with Quálitas Compañía de Seguros, one of Mexico’s largest auto insurers, and is designed to serve the US Spanish-speaking community.

The online platform gives drivers direct access to coverage recognized by Mexican authorities, filling a gap for those whose US auto policies do not extend south of the border. Nate Watson (pictured above), managing director of cross-border insurance at NFP, will oversee the initiative.

Cross-border demand for coverage

Millions of US residents with ties to Mexico frequently drive across the border for holidays, family events, and other personal reasons. For those traveling from Texas, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and Illinois, securing appropriate coverage has long been a recurring need.

While US policies may provide limited coverage near the border, they are not legally recognized by Mexican law. To operate a vehicle in Mexico, drivers must carry insurance from a licensed Mexican carrier. Without it, motorists risk fines, vehicle impoundment, and significant liability exposure if an accident occurs.

Conduzco Seguros addresses this requirement by offering a Spanish-language, digital-first platform that provides legally compliant coverage issued by Quálitas.

Partnership with Quálitas

Quálitas, with more than 30 years of experience in the Mexican insurance market, underwrites the policies and manages claims locally. The partnership leverages NFP’s cross-border expertise with Quálitas’ market leadership, ensuring drivers can access coverage that meets Mexican legal standards and provides claims handling within the country.

According to NFP, the program’s design focuses on accessibility, enabling Spanish-speaking drivers in the US to secure cost-effective, comprehensive auto insurance before crossing the border.

The launch of Conduzco Seguros marks another step in NFP’s efforts to broaden its cross-border and personal risk portfolio. For the US Spanish-speaking population, it provides a more seamless way to meet insurance requirements when driving in Mexico, while also strengthening NFP’s position in a niche but growing market segment.

By combining bilingual accessibility, regulatory compliance, and established underwriting, NFP and Quálitas are positioning the platform as both a practical and protective solution for drivers navigating two insurance systems.
