Amiga Specialty has announced it has secured Lloyd's capacity to support its financial institutions (FI) offering, a move that expands the firm's ability to underwrite risks across the UK, Europe, and international markets.

The facility broadens the company's geographic reach and risk appetite, allowing its FI team to serve clients with international operations and cross-border exposures. It also enables the business to build a portfolio spanning established financial centres and emerging markets through Lloyd's global licensing infrastructure.

Amiga's FI proposition provides coverage for asset managers, investment firms, funds, banks, and fintech companies. The company said brokers working with its FI team can expect timely decisions and consistent execution.

Jamie Ricketts, managing director of financial institutions at Amiga Specialty, leads the business.

"Securing Lloyd's capacity represents a major milestone for our Financial Institutions proposition," Ricketts said. "It enhances our ability to underwrite a broad spectrum of financial risks while achieving genuine geographic diversity."

Adam Kembrooke (pictured above), group managing director and founder of Amiga Specialty, said the Lloyd's-backed facility strengthens the firm's position across key markets.

He added that the development reflects the company's approach of building around experienced leaders who can deliver sustainable growth and meaningful capacity to brokers and clients.

The announcement comes as Amiga Specialty continues to develop its presence in the London market.

The Lloyd's arrangement follows Amiga's November 2025 partnership with the Accelerant Risk Exchange, through which it secured multi-year, multi-product capacity. That deal supports its commercial D&O, professional indemnity, financial institutions, and transactional risks offerings.

Amiga has also secured separate Lloyd's capacity for a Management Liability proposition targeting SME and mid-market businesses in the UK, Europe, and selected rest-of-world territories. That facility covers D&O and broader management liability risks and is intended to provide brokers with locally accessible Lloyd's capacity for those lines.
