Ansvar Insurance's free-to-use Community Hub has provided tangible cost savings and operational benefits to UK charities during a challenging period for the not-for-profit sector, according to the company's first impact report.
Launched in March 2024, the Hub was designed as part of the insurer's broader commitment to the sector, offering charities professional workspace, access to training and expert guidance on risk management, all at no cost. The report, covering March 2024 to July 2025, revealed that 91% of charity users achieved cost reductions of up to £1,000 annually, with some reporting greater savings.
Beyond financial benefits, the Hub has enabled charities to expand their impact. Seven in 10 organisations reported that using the facility allowed them to serve more clients, while one in five gained new clients or partners.
A further 4% secured additional funding through connections made at the Hub, it was stated.
Training, risk guidance and sector expertise
The Community Hub also hosts free workshops and events aimed at building sector knowledge and supporting risk awareness.
Over 130 attendees have participated in sessions covering fundraising, impact measurement, storytelling, and the use of AI in charity operations.
Sarah Cox, managing director of Ansvar, emphasised that the Hub reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to the charity sector. She noted that the combination of professional space, training, and risk guidance allows organisations to operate with greater confidence and resilience.
Ansvar’s initiative comes as part of a wider trend among insurers to support the charitable and not-for-profit sector. Several UK insurers have launched or expanded programmes aimed at helping charities navigate operational and financial challenges. For example, Ecclesiastical Insurance’s “Movement for Good” awards have provided millions in grants to charities across the UK, while Aviva’s Community Fund has supported hundreds of local projects with funding and risk management resources. Zurich has also run a “Charity of the Year” programme, offering both financial support and access to specialist advice for non-profits.
These efforts reflect the insurance industry’s recognition of the vital role charities play in society - and the importance of providing practical, accessible support to help them build resilience and deliver greater impact.
