MNK International, an independent Lloyd’s broker, has acquired a new brokerage in Türkiye.
The operation, MNK International Türkiye, will focus on insurance and reinsurance for complex and specialty risks. Headquartered in Istanbul, the business will serve Turkish clients across property, engineering, financial lines, and aviation. It aims to provide tailored solutions to meet diverse business needs.
MNK International Türkiye operates under MNK Group, based in London. The group’s global network of managing general agents and risk-bearing entities will support the new brokerage.
Manoj Kumar, chairman of MNK Group, said: “I am delighted to announce our expansion into Türkiye, which marks another milestone in MNK Group’s global expansion.”
Kumar noted that Ergüneş’s regional expertise aligns with the firm’s international standards. He said the acquisition enhances flexibility for clients in Türkiye and beyond.
Ergüneş highlighted opportunities in Türkiye’s construction, engineering, aviation, and agriculture sectors in his new role.
In June, MNK Group appointed Wajahat Khawaja as head of governance and controls. Khawaja brings more than 30 years of industry experience to oversee governance structures amid the group's international growth.
MNK Group also named Chaitali Roy as group executive managing director for risk and regulation in July. Roy, with over 20 years in audit and compliance, will guide regulatory strategies across regions including the Middle East and Asia.
Earlier this month, MNK International also appointed James Gorsuch as associate director of UK and international real estate. Gorsuch will enhance reinsurance and wholesale solutions for real estate clients, drawing on his decade of broker relations experience.
