Brown & Brown (Europe) has agreed to acquire Pardus Underwriting Ltd, a managing general agent (MGA) focused on property owners and commercial combined products.
Pardus Underwriting operates from its headquarters in Cranbrook, Kent, and an office in London.
Keith Thompson established Pardus Underwriting in 2013 with Darren Stockman. Thompson serves as chief executive, while Stockman is chief underwriting officer.
Thompson, Stockman and the rest of the team will remain in their roles after the acquisition. The business will continue operations from its current sites.
Brown & Brown said that the acquisition aligns with its strategy to target specialist managing general agents. Clive Nathan (pictured above), chief executive of underwriting at Brown & Brown (Europe), also noted that the deal adds to the company's product offerings.
He said that Pardus Underwriting provides capabilities sought by broker partners. “With strong organic growth potential and a highly experienced team, Pardus is an excellent fit for our strategy,” he said.
Thompson described the acquisition as a new phase for Pardus Underwriting. “We’re proud of what we’ve built over the past decade, and this move gives us the platform to accelerate our growth while continuing to deliver specialist products and exceptional service to our brokers and customers,” he said.
The move follows other recent deals by Brown & Brown (Europe), including the acquisition of All Medical Professionals Limited, which trades as All Med Pro Dental, earlier this month to expand its digital broker operations.
The company also acquired Weatherbys Hamilton LLP in July, a broker handling private client and bloodstock insurance, to broaden its speciality lines in the UK market. These transactions reflect ongoing efforts to integrate businesses that offer targeted expertise.
In September, Brown & Brown appointed Steve Hearn to oversee its international operations. Hearn's role involves managing global business activities and aiding the firm's broader strategy.
