The acquisition marks Gallagher Bassett’s second marine sector purchase within 12 months, following its 2025 acquisition of global marine and transit claims manager W K Webster.
Founded in 1848 and serving as a Lloyd’s Agent since 1891, Reck & Co. delivers surveying, claims handling, recovery and loss prevention services from offices across Europe. The company utilises a partner network of 250 organisations serving clients globally.
Business leaders Franz Kasten and Marc Friedrich will remain in their current positions and location under Manan Sagar, chief executive of Gallagher Bassett Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Sagar said the acquisition advances the organisation’s growth strategy in marine and transit claims management.

He said Reck & Co. brings a strong geographic foothold in Europe, allowing the company to offer clients more comprehensive, localised solutions throughout the continent.
