Bupa has renewed its role as Official Healthcare Partner of ParalympicsGB, continuing a three‑year relationship that will provide medical and wellbeing services to British Paralympians through Milano‑Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028.

The continuation of the partnership guarantees athletes access to Bupa services including GP and dental care, Bupa Health Assessments (personalised health and wellbeing reviews), and a new Medication Check service that uses DNA testing to help identify the right medicine and dose for individuals.

What the renewed deal covers

  • Continued provision of primary and dental care for ParalympicsGB athletes.
  • Bupa Health Assessments offering a full, personalised overview of current and prospective health and wellbeing.
  • Introduction of a Medication Check service leveraging DNA testing to support personalised prescribing decisions.

Bupa said the partnership builds on three years’ collaboration intended to support athlete performance and wellbeing. The insurer also highlighted broader inclusion work undertaken since the partnership began, including Plain English and Plain Numbers accreditation, media partnerships to promote inclusivity, and community grants for disability inclusion projects. Bupa’s “Health is” campaign, which aimed to challenge perceptions of disability by showcasing para‑athletes’ personal lives, was viewed by more than 7.4 million people during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The group also runs a Team Health Challenge initiative that brings together businesses to promote inclusive teams.

Leadership view

Carlos Jaureguizar, CEO for Bupa Global, India and UK, said the partnership had “gone from strength to strength,” adding that it provided “world‑class healthcare to elite athletes to perform at their physical and mental best” and offered learning on “the true meaning of inclusion.” Dave Clarke, chief executive of ParalympicsGB, described the relationship as grounded in “shared values of excellence, respect and integrity,” and said Bupa’s support enabled the organisation “to make a lasting impact both for our current and future athletes, as well as the disabled community more widely.”

Bupa’s nine global Paralympic partnerships (including the UK, Spain, Australia, Poland, New Zealand, Mexico, Hong Kong, Ecuador and Chile) signal a strategic commitment to para‑sport healthcare.
