Chubb has appointed Jimaan Sané (pictured) as head of growth for its global cyber business, effective immediately, as insurers continue to refine their cyber strategies amid evolving loss trends and competitive pressure in the market.

Based in Zurich, Sané will oversee the performance and expansion of Chubb’s global cyber growth initiatives. He will work closely with distribution and underwriting teams to support the delivery of cyber insurance solutions across regions, industry sectors and company sizes.

The appointment comes at a time when the cyber insurance market is showing signs of stabilisation following several years of rate increases and tightening terms. While pricing momentum has moderated in many segments, insurers remain focused on disciplined growth, portfolio diversification and underwriting consistency as ransomware activity, systemic risk and regulatory scrutiny continue to shape risk appetite.

Mike Kessler, vice president of Chubb Group and division president of global cyber risk, said Sané’s experience will support the insurer’s efforts to strengthen its cyber proposition and maintain its position in a competitive global market.

Sané joins Chubb from Beazley Group, where he spent more than a decade in senior cyber leadership roles. Most recently, he served as growth leader for London and international markets, overseeing strategy and expansion across London wholesale and international platforms. His background includes managing multinational underwriting teams across London, Europe, Canada and Singapore, giving him exposure to a wide range of regulatory environments and distribution models.

His appointment reflects a broader trend among global carriers to invest in senior leadership focused specifically on growth, rather than pure underwriting, as cyber matures from a niche line into a core component of commercial insurance portfolios. Insurers are increasingly looking to balance sustainable expansion with tighter risk selection, improved data analytics and closer engagement with brokers and clients.

For Chubb, which has positioned cyber as a key global line, the role is expected to support coordinated growth across regions while aligning product development and distribution with local market conditions and client demand.
