Pro Global has launched Pro Legal Solutions Ltd, a Solicitors Regulation Authority-registered law firm designed to manage complex claims litigation for the specialist insurance sector.
The new venture will handle disease and illness claims as well as abuse claims arising within England and Wales.
The initiative arrives as the UK insurance sector experiences a notable rise in claims activity during 2025, driven by severe weather events, escalating costs in motor repairs, and an uptick in payouts for life, protection, and pet insurance policies.
Jonathan Richards (pictured above), an experienced solicitor, has been appointed managing director of Pro Legal. The firm's primary focus will encompass all stages of complex exposure-based employer and public liability claims, as well as disease, illness, and abuse-related matters.
Pro Global said that Pro Legal will address inefficiencies often associated with legacy claims management through streamlined processes and consolidated workflows. The insurance industry has increasingly adopted automation and artificial intelligence tools to enhance claims processing, with over half of insurance claims processing expected to involve such technologies.
The new unit will leverage data-driven insights to improve claim lifecycles and deliver enhanced outcomes for clients.
The market has seen growth in business interruption claims, with 31% of companies identifying business interruption as a major risk in 2025, driven by increasing frequency of natural catastrophes. This expansion in claim complexity and scope reflects the need for specialist legal expertise capable of managing long-tail claims arising from diverse exposures.
Steve Lewis, chief executive officer of Pro Global, noted that "by taking control of the full legal process, we can ensure greater alignment between pre- and post-litigation strategies, deliver efficiencies, and offer clients more control over their legal spend."
Lewis added that the firm is "focused on streamlining processes, improving indemnity outcomes, and leveraging data to continuously enhance our legal services."
