Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has announced the acquisition of Health Partners Europe Limited (HPE) and SEMPRIS Limited, a group providing specialist healthcare schemes, insurance, and technology solutions for elite sport.
According to a news release, HPE, founded in 1993, offers tailored and technology-driven services for designing and managing bespoke healthcare schemes that cater to the specific needs of professional athletes. The business supports athletes across more than 80 sporting disciplines and has worked continuously with the Premier League since 1994, serving as its Appointed Healthcare Advisors for over 30 years.
HPE’s clients include the majority of the 92 professional clubs within the Premier League and English Football League, as well as organisations in the Women’s Super League, Men’s and Women’s national squads, and elite academies. Its role extends to supporting clubs, medical teams, and players in ensuring swift access to expert care and optimising performance outcomes.
In 2010, HPE founded SEMPRIS to offer professional indemnity insurance products designed for medical professionals working within elite sport. The company also developed Formis, an athlete management system that helps sports organisations manage different aspects of athlete health and performance, including specialised areas such as head injury assessments.
Following the acquisition, HPE will continue to invest in technology and service delivery with an aim to improve access to healthcare and insurance services across the high-performance sector.
