Insurance Business UK has released its 2026 list of the best insurance companies to work for in the UK, based on a two-stage research process combining employer disclosures with structured employee feedback.
The publication first invited insurance organisations across the UK market to complete an employer survey describing their people practices and workforce-related programmes. Respondents were asked to outline how they structure pay and benefits, support learning and development, shape organisational culture, and approach diversity and inclusion. Only firms with sufficient employee participation were eligible for consideration, with minimum response thresholds set according to overall headcount to ensure statistically meaningful results.
Employees at nominated companies were then surveyed anonymously to provide their assessment of workplace conditions. Using a common questionnaire, staff evaluated their employers across several dimensions, including:
Each organisation received an overall satisfaction score derived from its employee responses. Only those achieving an average rating of at least 80% were designated as Top Insurance Employers for 2026. Insurance Business UK noted that the intention of the research is to highlight firms that are planning ahead on people strategy rather than reacting only when workforce challenges become visible, as employee sentiment on issues such as progression, reward, and inclusivity is increasingly seen as a leading indicator in a competitive talent market.
