Independent global specialty insurance and reinsurance broker McGill and Partners has joined GB Snowsport as a new partner ahead of the 2025/26 season. The tie-up comes as British athletes prepare for a high-profile year, with the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Milan-Cortina scheduled for February and March 2026, alongside a full World Cup calendar beginning in November.
Founded in 2019, McGill and Partners has positioned itself as a challenger in the re/insurance broking market, focusing on complex, large-scale risks for global clients. The firm’s entry into sports sponsorship highlights how specialist brokers are increasingly seeking visibility beyond the boardroom, aligning their brand with performance-driven organisations.
Steve McGill CBE, Co-founder and CEO, said the partnership “reflects everything we stand for—bold thinking, exceptional performance and the courage to lead in complex environments.” He added that whether it is “navigating complex risk or supporting elite athletes, the shared vision is to support resilience, foster innovation, and champion those who pursue excellence.”
GB Snowsport CEO Vicky Gosling described the collaboration as a natural fit. “What we’re looking to achieve on the snow in the next twelve months fits brilliantly with the ethos and culture that McGill and Partners demonstrate in their business,” she said.
The partnership will be activated through joint initiatives exploring parallels between sport and business, with themes ranging from risk and resilience to innovation and talent.
McGill and Partners’ move also mirrored a broader trend in the insurance market. Allianz has become a worldwide partner of the International Paralympic Committee, using sport to underline its role in resilience and inclusion. Hiscox has long supported rugby, leveraging the sport’s profile to reinforce its specialty insurance credentials. Gallagher, another global broker, holds naming rights to Premiership Rugby in the UK, associating its brand with teamwork and performance.
