Piper, who has more than 15 years of industry experience, joins from Convex Insurance, where she served as senior underwriter for marine and energy liability. She previously spent nearly 12 years in underwriting roles at Markel International.

The appointment follows Westfield Specialty International's recent hire of Matt Radbourne to lead its power and renewables line. Piper will report to Simon Engelen, class underwriter for marine liability.

HIVE Underwriters marine CUO

The marine launch follows HIVE's entry into space insurance at the end of 2025, building on its existing aviation underwriting lines.

Greater Than AB chief executive

In the insurtech sector, Greater Than AB has appointed Johanna Forseke as its new chief executive, with the transition planned for May 2026.

Forseke, who has served as deputy CEO since 2023 and chief business officer since 2020, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Warwick.

Outgoing CEO Liselott Johansson will remain in her position until the annual general meeting in May. Johansson has led the company for more than 18 years, overseeing its listing on Nasdaq First North Growth Market in 2017.

The company said Johansson will continue to oversee the remaining parts of ongoing legal proceedings against former customer ABAX, including any potential appeals, to ensure their conclusion.
