Several UK and international insurance firms and managing general agents (MGAs) have announced a series of senior appointments.
Arch Insurance strengthens casualty team
Arch Insurance International has appointed Beth Jenkins (pictured) as senior casualty underwriter.
Jenkins joins from Allied World and will support the expansion of Arch's UK risk-managed retail platform and wholesale EEA business. She will be based in London and will report to Marie-Claire Bessada, head of retail, general liability.
Pen Underwriting restructures marine practice
Pen Underwriting has implemented a new leadership structure within its specialist marine practice, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The changes retain Pen's marine underwriting specialisms while introducing pan-practice roles to support growth and operational consistency.
Tom Batterbury will head Pen’s marine war and marine professional indemnity businesses, trading as Vessel Protect and Freeboard. Jack Buchan assumes leadership of the brown water hull specialist, Fortify. James King takes charge of BMM Ports & Terminals, the specialist ports and terminals facility. Stephen Loader will lead the TMT business, providing tailored property and liability cover for boat builders, repairers, equipment suppliers, clubs, and marinas.
Additionally, Munro Anderson has been promoted to director of strategy and operations, while James Kent becomes commercial director. Co-managing directors Paul Hartley and Chris Goddard will leave the business as part of the restructuring.
Tokio Marine Kiln invests in liability expertise
Tokio Marine Kiln has recruited Harry Gregory to its liability team, reporting to departmental head Oliver Delaney.
Gregory, formerly at Marsh, brings experience managing multinational programmes across the energy, power, and renewables sectors.
The Swedish Club enhances charterers & traders capability
The Swedish Club has appointed Terri Jay as head, charterers & traders.
Jay joins from Gard AS, bringing three decades of international underwriting and leadership experience. Managing director Thomas Nordberg noted her appointment strengthens technical capabilities and expands service for global charterers and traders.
