A series of senior appointments and internship initiatives have been announced across the insurance industry.

Mosaic expands summer internship programme

Mosaic Insurance has welcomed four students (pictured above) to its global offices as part of its summer internship programme, now in its fifth year.

The 2025 cohort includes interns based in Bermuda, London, New York and Chicago, working in cyber underwriting, data science and communications roles.

This year’s participants are Olivia Washington, Jessica Bruton, Ellie Weber and Muhammad Sharuf Hossain. Since its launch in 2021, the programme has hosted 17 students.

Haviland Dunne, VP and global HR partner at Mosaic, said the initiative is aimed at developing future industry professionals. “Our interns are working on real projects and gaining practical experience that supports their development while adding value to the business,” she said.

Liberty GTS strengthens EMEA leadership

Liberty Global Transaction Solutions (Liberty GTS), a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has named two new regional heads within its EMEA operations.

Nick Lunn has been appointed head of the UK, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, while Barbara Magni takes on the role of head of Southern Europe.

Lunn joined Liberty GTS in 2020 and previously led its Southern Europe team. He has prior experience at WTW and in underwriting roles, and started his career as a corporate lawyer. He will also continue to lead Liberty GTS’ EMEA tax team.

Magni has been with Liberty GTS since 2016. She has worked on M&A transactions across Southern Europe and will remain based in Milan.

“These appointments reflect our long-term commitment to the transactional risk market and to developing internal talent,” said Markus Messinger, head of EMEA.

Open GI appoints new chief technology officer

Open GI has appointed Andy Brockway (pictured immediately above) as chief technology officer, effective immediately. Brockway was previously CTO at Confused.com, where he spent over two decades in technology leadership, including overseeing the platform’s technical growth and development.

In his new role, Brockway will lead Open GI’s technology directorate as the firm continues to build its capabilities. In 2023, the company invested £8.5 million in technology enhancements. He most recently served as global CTO at Retail Insight, delivering solutions for the retail sector.

Open GI CEO Simon Badley said the appointment supports the company’s growth strategy. Brockway added that he looks forward to contributing to innovation across Open GI’s broker and MGA network.
