Howden, Tokio Marine Kiln, and Consilium have each made senior appointments and strategic moves.

Howden appoints Dalrymple as group chief legal officer

Howden has appointed Christopher Dalrymple (pictured above, left) as group chief legal officer, effective March 23. The role is a newly created position within the global insurance broking group.

Dalrymple brings more than 25 years of legal leadership experience across the insurance and financial services sectors, with additional background in public company governance, private equity, and capital markets. He joins from Alleghany Corporation, a global reinsurance holding company that was listed on the NYSE until its acquisition by Berkshire Hathaway in 2022.

During his tenure as general counsel at Alleghany, Dalrymple led global legal teams and supported the board and CEO on strategic and governance matters. He was also involved in transactions including M&A and public offerings.

His appointment follows the recent arrival of Susan Panuccio as Howden's group chief financial officer. The additions come as the broking group continues to build out its senior leadership amid ongoing expansion plans.

TMK hires property underwriter from Lancashire

Separately, Tokio Marine Kiln has hired Lauren Storer (pictured above, centre) as an underwriter in its property & motor division. She will report to Neil Robertson, divisional head of open market property.

Storer has more than 13 years of underwriting experience across direct and facultative property business, spanning Lloyd's, the company market, and global reinsurance platforms. She joins from Lancashire Insurance Company, where she held a senior underwriter role and led the development of the international strategy for its D&F business.

Prior to Lancashire, Storer spent over a decade at Munich Reinsurance Company, where she built a portfolio of US and international property risks and contributed to the development of digital underwriting tools. Her remit at Munich Re covered the US, Caribbean, Middle East, Australasia, and Latin America.

At TMK, Storer's appointment adds to the insurer's property & motor division, which maintains a portfolio spanning international territories across both open market and delegated authority business.

Consilium launches energy risk solutions division

Consilium, the global speciality reinsurance broker, has launched an energy risk solutions division and appointed Johnny Hilliard (pictured above, right) as managing partner. Hilliard will join following the completion of his notice period.

Hilliard brings more than 16 years of experience, with a focus on third-party liabilities in the North American market. He joins from Amwins Global Risks, where he served as divisional director for energy.

Earlier in his career, Hilliard held senior roles at Cogent International and Roberts Armytage & Partners. At Consilium, he will focus on the energy liabilities specialism within the new division.

The energy risk solutions division is the second new division Consilium has launched this year, following the announcement of its international casualty division earlier this week.

The firm described the appointment as the first phase in its planned build-out of a broader energy platform.
