A host of key appointments have been announced across the insurance sector.
The Fidelis Partnership (TFP) has named Peter Welton as head of specialty. Welton joins the firm from AXA XL, where he most recently served as chief underwriting officer for Marine, Energy and Aerospace, UK & Lloyd’s.
With over two decades of experience in specialty insurance, Welton’s background includes leadership roles at XL Caitlin, where he focused on downstream energy and power generation.
In his new role at TFP, Welton will focus on the growth of the firm’s aviation, space and energy re/insurance lines, including the renewables sector. He will report to John-Paul O’Hare, TFP’s director of underwriting.
International law firm DAC Beachcroft (DACB) has appointed Simon Jackson (pictured above, left) as head of its marine, energy, and shipping teams within the firm’s global insurance practice.
Jackson joins from Clyde & Co, where he led its energy, engineering, marine and construction team. He has advised on significant incidents, including the Gryphon A offshore loss and major natural catastrophes in the United States and Europe.
Jackson’s arrival adds to DACB’s growing presence in key international hubs, including Hong Kong, Singapore, and Lima. The firm has also promoted Franc Gozalvez to partner, effective May 1.
Allianz Partners has appointed Ivan Komandnyi (pictured above, centre) as head of insurer network management within its health & benefits division, effective April 1.
Komandnyi, who brings 20 years of experience in the insurance sector, will oversee the Allianz Health and Benefits Network and manage relationships with local insurance partners across the globe. He has previously held senior roles at Allianz Russia and Allianz Consulting.
In his new position, Komandnyi will report directly to David Myers, global head of Sales & KAM, Health & Benefits.
Broker Insights has made a series of senior executive appointments as part of its ongoing expansion.
Stuart Spink (pictured above, right) has been appointed chief operating officer, bringing a wealth of experience from Lloyd’s and Aviva. Spink will play a key role in scaling Broker Insights’ data and technology-driven solutions to connect brokers and insurers more effectively.
Additionally, Sandy Scott joins as head of data, bringing experience from global companies like Google, Sainsbury’s Bank, and the BBC.
The company has also promoted several individuals from within, including Ying Wang as chief product officer, Andy Whiteley as director of commercial data, Amy Garland as finance director, and Matthew Callaghan as head of technology, who will lead upcoming platform developments.
