Arch Insurance International and Consilium have each announced senior leadership appointments as both firms expand their underwriting and claims capabilities.
Arch has promoted Sophie Mansouri (pictured above, left) to the role of UK professional indemnity (PI) underwriting manager, effective immediately. The announcement follows Arch’s decision to consolidate its London Market Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) and UK Regional PI operations into a single unit.
Mansouri now leads an eight-person underwriting team responsible for managing the UK PI portfolio, which includes coverage for both traditional and non-traditional professions such as technical and scientific services. She is based in London and reports to David Longley, head of PI.
Mansouri joined Arch in 2023 from Hiscox, where she held the position of UK large renewals team manager. She brings more than 11 years of commercial lines experience to her new position.
Arch said that the integration of its regional and London Market expertise into a single UK PI team is intended to provide brokers with broader access to insurance solutions and facilitate a more consistent underwriting approach.
The UK PI team is part of Arch’s broader PI division, which also includes the London Market large account PI team led by Austen Barnes and a new PI delegated authority segment managed by Paul Sharpe.
Back in April, Arch also promoted Alex Clark to healthcare underwriting manager. In this role, Clark oversees underwriting activities across the company’s healthcare portfolio.
Separately, Consilium, the specialty re/insurance broking arm of Aventum Group, has appointed Nick Woodward (pictured above, right) as its chief claims officer (CCO). Woodward joins from Optio, where he was claims director, and brings nearly 30 years of experience in both legal and claims functions across Lloyd’s, the London Market, and MGAs.
He also spent eight years at HCC International Insurance Company as head of casualty claims & general counsel. Earlier in his career, he practiced law at Eversheds and CMS Cameron McKenna.
In his new role, Woodward will oversee Consilium’s nine-person claims advocacy team and collaborate with Duncan Childs, head of technical claims and coverage. Childs, a qualified lawyer with 20 years of experience, will work closely with Woodward to develop Consilium’s claims handling framework.
