Three insurance organisations have announced key leadership appointments.
Amiga strengthens board with new non-executive chair
Amiga Specialty has appointed Martin Mills, founder of Millstream, as non-executive chairman.
Mills (pictured above, left) previously built Millstream into a leading travel and personal accident specialist before its acquisition by Nexus Underwriting in 2015.
Amiga founder and managing director Adam Kembrooke said Mills’ experience will enhance corporate governance and open opportunities in travel and personal accident lines as the MGA pursues growth.
FM appoints new CFO
FM Global has named Alison Erbig (pictured above, right) as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective November 1. Erbig joins from Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she was CFO for Global Risk Solutions.
She succeeds Kevin Ingram, who will retire at the end of the year after 35 years with the company. FM chairman and CEO Malcolm Roberts said Erbig’s experience in financial strategy and enterprise risk management will support FM’s long-term financial leadership.
Ignite Specialty Risk expands underwriting and leadership team
Ignite Specialty Risk has strengthened its executive and underwriting functions with four appointments, supporting its strategy to grow across the UK, Europe and the US.
The litigation risk insurance provider has named Tim Woodgett as chief of staff, responsible for strategic planning and execution across all offices. Woodgett brings nearly two decades of insurance leadership experience, including senior positions at Liberty Mutual, MS Amlin and Hiscox.
Ignite also made three appointments within its UK underwriting operation. Ben Lim joins as portfolio manager from Marsh, where he advised clients on managing litigation and arbitration risks. Angus Eames joins from ClientEarth as a technical underwriter, having previously practised at DLA Piper. Matt Evans, who has 15 years of post-qualification experience, has been promoted internally to technical underwriter.
CEO Byron Sumner said the appointments reflect Ignite’s continued international growth and commitment to service excellence. Since its launch in 2022, the company has supported over US$2 billion in litigation capital and was recently recognised by Chambers and Partners for its success in both the UK and US markets.
