The insurance industry has made a wave of leadership and organisational changes as American International Group (AIG), Commercial Express, and Bravo Networks all announced new appointments effective in September.
AIG confirmed that Scott Hallworth (pictured top) will join the company as chief digital officer on September 1, 2025. Hallworth previously served in senior roles at HP Inc., Capital One, and Travelers, bringing over 30 years of experience in digital, data, actuarial, and GenAI strategies
“AIG has a strong foundation in data and digital innovation, and I am excited to collaborate with the team to leverage the continuous advancements in GenAI to drive innovation and impact at scale,” said Hallworth.
Hallworth will initially report to Claude Wade, who currently holds the same position and will transition to an advisory role at the end of the year due to health reasons. Starting January 2026, Hallworth will report directly to chairman and CEO Peter Zaffino.
Wade described his tenure at AIG as a privilege and said he is confident about the company’s global technology efforts moving forward.
“It has been a privilege to be a part of AIG during the company’s extraordinary journey and return to industry leadership. I am very proud of the progress we have made,” said Wade.
Managing general agent Commercial Express has announced three senior underwriting appointments and one internal promotion, effective September 1.
Matt Warby, Richard Wilson, and Kieran Jones have been named senior underwriters, while Sally Scott has been promoted to senior technical underwriter. Helen Bingham has also rejoined the firm as a technical specialist.
Commercial Express recorded 36% growth in 2024, lifting gross written premium (GWP) to £35.75 million, and is targeting more than £50 million in GWP by year-end 2025. The company has a longer-term objective of £100 million.
Founder and managing director Duncan Pritchard said the new hires and promotions support the firm’s strategy. “Commercial Express continues to go from strength to strength, with a growing team that reflects the talent and ambition driving its success,” said Pritchard.
Bravo Networks, part of Everywhen, has announced the appointment of Karen Jackman as managing director, subject to regulatory approval.
Jackman, currently sales and distribution director at Geo Underwriting, will report to Everywhen chief commercial officer Phil Bayles. She has previously held senior positions at Aviva.
“I'm delighted to be joining the Bravo Networks team at this exciting time. The Network is a successful and well-established business with a respected and valued brand, and I am excited to be part of the next phase of this journey,” said Jackman.
Bayles said Jackman’s experience with regional brokers and product development would be integral to Bravo’s expansion.
“Karen’s wealth of knowledge working with regional brokers and extensive experience in proposition and service development is a crucial combination to build on the foundations of what is already a hugely successful network,” Bayles added.
In the insurance legal services sector, national law firm Weightmans has appointed Sam Gittoes (pictured) as the new regional office head for Liverpool.
Gittoes, who has been with the firm for almost 20 years and currently serves as head of client delivery in the fraud department, succeeds Martin English, who stepped down from the role in April.
“I look forward to building on our strong foundations here in the city, nurturing new talent, supporting our amazing clients, and contributing to the region’s legal and professional landscape,” said Gittoes.
She will work alongside the firm’s leadership team, including new managing partner Sarah Walton.
