Gallagher has announced the acquisition of Aspera Sigorta ve Reasürans Brokerliği A.Ş. (Aspera), a Türkiye-based insurance and reinsurance brokerage firm. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2022, Aspera operates as a boutique intermediary with a focus on industrial property, power and energy, and construction risks. The firm employs six people and will be integrated into Gallagher’s existing Türkiye operations, which are headquartered in Istanbul and staffed by 25 risk professionals.

Aspera is led by Evrim Ozkoc, who will remain in position following the transaction. Ozkoc will report to Gündüz Tezel, CEO of Gallagher in Türkiye.

Gallagher said that the acquisition is expected to support the broker’s expansion in a market that is becoming increasingly significant as a conduit between European and Asian insurance activities.

Alex Nagler (pictured above), CEO of Gallagher in Europe, said that Türkiye continues to be viewed as a strategic component of the company’s European footprint, with further opportunities anticipated amid shifting regional dynamics.

Gallagher initially entered the Turkish market through the acquisition of Brokers House in 2021. Its expansion in the region comes amid growth in the company, with Gallagher reporting strong financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2025.

The company posted a 14% year-over-year increase in combined revenue from its core segments, with organic revenue up 9%. Net earnings margin rose 175 basis points to 23%, while adjusted EBTIDAC margin climbed 338 basis points to 41.1%.

Meanwhile, Gallagher also recently expanded its net-zero capabilities with the appointment of Ian Picton to the newly created role of head of energy transition.

The position is designed to support clients involved in the transition to low-carbon and renewable energy solutions. Picton works with Gallagher’s climate solutions division, led by James Bosley, within its London-based specialty operations.
