Clear Group has appointed Barbara Duffy as group chief people & performance officer and expanded the role of Victoria Gallimore as group chief of staff, as the broker continues to build out its leadership team following a period of strong growth.

Duffy (pictured above), who takes up the role on September 8, joins from IG Group, where she was global chief people officer with responsibility for people, sustainability and communications functions. She has also held senior HR roles at St. James’ Place Wealth Management, RWE Group, Nationwide Building Society and Centrica plc. At Clear, she will oversee people and organisational development strategy, with a focus on talent, capability and performance.

Gallimore, who had been leading both the chief of staff and people & culture functions, will remain chief of staff with an expanded remit, working with the executive team on strategic initiatives, operational alignment and collaboration across the business.

The changes come as Clear Group continues to post strong results. The company reported 11% organic growth in the first quarter of 2025. For the year ending October 31, 2024, revenue rose 24.5% to £93 million and adjusted EBITDA increased 45.8% to £27.7 million. The broker partnered with Goldman Sachs in 2022 to accelerate its long-term strategy.

Alongside acquisitions, Clear has invested in integration and efficiency initiatives, including migrating its UK retail operations on to a single technology platform and expanding its managing general agent capabilities. Rebrands such as Shape Underwriting and Clear Insurance Ireland have also been rolled out to create a unified group identity.

The company has made senior hires and invested in training and leadership development, including a future leaders programme with Warwick Business School.

Chief executive Mike Edgeley said Duffy’s experience in people leadership and organisational transformation would support the group’s growth strategy, adding that both Duffy and Gallimore would play key roles in maintaining Clear’s culture and ensuring delivery against its objectives.
