Brokerslink has announced the addition of Afkoma, Iceland’s third largest insurance broker, to its international roster.
This move marks the first time an Icelandic company has joined the network, expanding Brokerslink’s presence in the Nordic region.
Afkoma, established in 2018 and based in Reykjavik, is regulated by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Iceland (FME). The firm manages US$22 million in written premium each year and provides a variety of commercial and personal insurance solutions.
Sæmundur St. Magnússon, CEO of Afkoma, commented on the development. “Afkoma was founded on the principles of trust, transparency, and client-focused solutions,” he said.
Magnússon noted that joining Brokerslink would enable the company to extend these values internationally and offer new opportunities to its clients. He added that Afkoma was “proud to be the first Icelandic broker to join the network.”
Carla Alves (pictured above), marketing and operations director at Brokerslink, also spoke about the expansion. She described Iceland as a dynamic and fast-developing market, and said Afkoma’s inclusion strengthens Brokerslink’s position in the Nordic region.
Alves noted that the partnership will build on the expertise and opportunities available to the network’s global partners and affiliates.
In recent months, Brokerslink has continued to expand its network with the addition of EIP, a UK-based embedded insurance provider, as its newest affiliate. EIP works with international brands to deliver embedded insurance solutions, supporting the launch and scaling of insurance programmes.
The network has also broadened its expertise by welcoming Drivento, a consultancy operating across the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Drivento supports Brokerslink partners with consulting services, channel development, and advanced technologies, enhancing the resources available to the network’s members.
In addition, HWF Partners, headquartered in London, has joined Brokerslink, bringing a focus on transactional risk insurance, including warranty and indemnity, tax liability, and contingent liability products.
