Brokers in London and across the UK have fresh insight into which markets are delivering for clients, with Insurindex unveiling its 2026 Gracechurch Service Quality Marque (SQM) achievers across claims and underwriting.

Which firms received the honours?

In the London market, 14 carriers secured the Claims SQM, with a core group of heavyweights – AEGIS London, Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) and Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) among them – now marking a decade at the top.

AEGIS London has received the Outstanding Claims SQM every year since the award's inception in 2017, most recently scoring 78% positive ratings and placing in the top quartile for average service. Brokers described the team as “very knowledgeable and easy to communicate with”.

Gracechurch managing director Ben Bolton said 2026 “marks the 10th consecutive Service Quality Marque awarded to AEGIS London”, reflecting “a claims team that continues to deliver consistent, high-quality service, and is among the most dependable in the London market”.

LSM also celebrated 10 years of Claims SQM recognition, ending 2025 with its highest NPS on record and third place on average service scores. Chief underwriting officer Henry Nelson said: “This longevity is a testament to LSM’s commitment to providing quality and consistent claims service... It is an honour also to receive the SQM for underwriting this year.”

Bolton described LSM’s claims performance as “stronger than ever” and welcomed its first underwriting marque “to sit alongside its continued excellence in claims service”.

TMK likewise secured its 10h consecutive Claims SQM and third consecutive Underwriting SQM recognition, making it one of only two firms to have achieved both distinctions every year since the London underwriting award launched in 2024.

TMK finished 2025 ranked first in the market for claims service, with its highest-ever NPS and 60% of service metrics in the “excellent” range. Chief underwriting officer Vivek Syal said TMK’s focus on technical and service excellence across both underwriting and claims “will remain a competitive advantage” as it builds on leadership in its core lines.

Which other insurers received praise?

Other major brands also featured strongly. AXA XL took both London claims and underwriting SQMs. Chubb is the only carrier to hold the Claims SQM in both London and the UK regional market. Liberty Specialty Markets, Chaucer and Convex all appear on both London lists, giving brokers a compact set of markets that combine front-end appetite with evidenced post-loss delivery.

In the UK regions, Allianz, AXA, Chubb and Ecclesiastical stood out. Allianz and AXA secured SQMs for underwriting, with Allianz also leading on claims alongside Chubb and Ecclesiastical.

Now in its 10th year for claims and third for underwriting, the SQM is based on Net Promoter Scores over the previous year, combined with broker ratings for communication, commerciality, collaboration and customer focus. Achievers typically score above 75% and are positioned as insurers brokers can recommend with confidence, according to Insurindex.
