The British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA) has appointed broadcaster Kay Burley (pictured above) as the host for its 2026 conference.
Burley was part of the original team that launched Sky News in 1989 and became the channel's first female presenter. Her career has included reporting from conflict zones and world capitals, as well as conducting interviews with global leaders, royalty and public figures across politics, business and entertainment.
Emma Chapman, BIBA conference director, said: "We're delighted to have one of the longest serving and influential UK presenters grace our stage at The BIBA Conference next year."
Chapman added that Burley's four decades of experience would bring a range of perspectives to the event, and that the association looks forward to her chairing debates and discussions with keynote speakers, who will be announced at a later date.
The BIBA Conference 2026, themed "Time:To", is scheduled to take place at Manchester Central. The event will open at 8am on May 13 and conclude at 4pm on May 14.

The theme centres on immediate market challenges, including rising claims costs, capacity constraints for complex or distressed risks, and gaps in customer understanding of policy coverage and exclusions. More than 9,900 professionals and 220 exhibitors are expected to attend.
Registered attendees will have the opportunity to network ahead of the main programme at an official launch event on 12 May, running from 3pm to 7pm.
In November 2025, BIBA also appointed Sarah Chadburn, director at One Call Insurance, as chair of its Regional Chairs' Advisory Board. Chadburn, who has more than 20 years in broking, will lead the board in representing brokers' interests across BIBA's 11 regions.
