AP Companies, a global provider of medical assistance and cost containment services, has opened a new office in the City of London.
The firm explained that the new office is aimed at strengthening ties with current partners and supporting growth in the general insurance, London, and Lloyd’s markets.
Established in 1997, AP Companies delivers medical assistance, cost containment, and third-party administration (TPA) services to the international private medical insurance, travel, maritime, and aviation sectors. The company employs 250 staff worldwide and maintains a network of more than 125,000 contracted medical providers.
Natalya Butakova (pictured above, left), CEO of AP Companies, described the London office as a significant strategic step for the business.
The London office will be led by Lizzie MacLehose (pictured above, right), who brings over 15 years of experience in international medical assistance. She will manage a team of six, with the site serving as the company’s commercial and strategic centre. Operational support will remain at the existing Beckenham location to ensure continuity of service.
MacLehose said that the new operation in the City of London will allow AP Companies to better support existing clients in the medical, travel, and maritime insurance sectors, as well as pursue new business in the London insurance market.
“Being close to the head offices of major insurers, reinsurers, and brokers is a deliberate strategic step and will drive faster decision-making, help foster deeper collaboration, and anticipate the evolving needs of this critical market,” she said.
MacLehose added that the London insurance and maritime community relies on relationships and face-to-face interaction, and that the new office positions the company at the centre of this environment.
Elsewhere in the City, Specialist Risk Group (SRG) also expanded its operations with the opening of a new office in the St Botolph Building in September, consolidating teams from several locations. The St Botolph Building, located near the Lloyd’s market, is known for its modern facilities and is expected to support both collaborative work and client meetings.
SRG leadership has indicated that this new location will serve as a foundation for future development and integration across its specialist teams, marking a significant milestone in the group’s ambitions in the capital.
