Ageas has appointed the RAC as its new legal expenses insurance provider for motor, van and home customers across the Ageas and Rias brands.
The agreement, which follows a competitive tender process, extends the existing partnership between the two companies, with the RAC already serving as Ageas Retail Limited's motor breakdown assistance provider.
Under the new arrangement, Ageas customers who include legal expenses cover in their policies will begin receiving the RAC’s legal services from their next renewal. The move gives policyholders access to round-the-clock legal advice and support on a wide range of issues, including employment, property, and family matters.
According to Paul Evans, general manager of RAC Legal Services, the appointment builds on both companies’ shared focus on customer service and product reliability. He said the legal expenses cover helps protect drivers making non-fault claims and homeowners facing disputes by providing financial support and professional advice.
Evans added that the RAC has made significant investments in the product to ensure customers benefit from robust legal expertise.
Adam Clarke, managing director of Ageas UK’s Direct Business, said the partnership reflects Ageas’s commitment to offering reliable services that make a practical difference to customers. He noted that legal expenses cover provides expert guidance and support for unexpected issues that can arise in daily life. Clarke also highlighted that the collaboration with the RAC would enhance customer experience through the insurer’s legal expertise and customer support.
The new partnership strengthens the existing relationship between Ageas and the RAC while underscoring a broader industry trend among personal lines insurers to expand beyond traditional coverages. This approach is aimed at enhancing value propositions and building long-term customer loyalty in a competitive retail insurance market.
Legal expenses cover has become increasingly relevant as consumers face rising costs for legal advice and a growing awareness of potential disputes involving property, employment, or accidents.
Through this partnership, Ageas seeks to make legal protection more accessible and provide policyholders with greater confidence when dealing with unforeseen challenges.
