Two insurance firms have announced top-level appointments as they position their operations to address evolving regulatory environments and regional business strategies.

Addept Insurance Services has appointed Kelly Jarrett as finance director, while Price Forbes has named David Howells as senior executive officer for its Dubai office, pending regulatory approval.

Jarrett joins Addept Insurance board as finance director

Jarrett, a former finance manager at Arc Legal Assistance, brings experience in financial management across both the insurance and not-for-profit sectors. As a board member, she will oversee financial strategy and operations at Addept Insurance, which launched in 2023.

The company recently introduced a new range of legal expenses insurance products and has additional launches scheduled for 2025.

Jarrett said the company’s approach to delivering cost-effective insurance solutions provides a platform for further developments, adding that she aims to use financial planning to support strategic initiatives.

"I look beyond the pure numbers to understand and explore how to effectively deliver strategic opportunities and relish the chance to play a part in delivering future growth,” said Jarrett.

Addept Insurance managing director Richard Finan said Jarrett’s background aligns with the company’s ongoing operational development and its aim to serve an expanding customer base.

"Her approach and her understanding of our sector will play a significant role in enabling us to continue this progress and support the further development of our innovative solutions meeting the needs of our expanding customer base,” said Finan.

Price Forbes appoints Howells to lead Dubai operations

Meanwhile, Price Forbes has named David Howells to lead its Dubai operations as senior executive officer (SEO), a position subject to approval by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.

Howells previously held senior roles at Roanoke International Brokers and Besso Re, where he served as managing director and SEO for the MENA region.

His responsibilities will include guiding Price Forbes’ regional business strategy and coordinating with global business units. The firm continues to engage with developments in the Middle East insurance market, including the expansion of mandatory coverage policies.

Howells said joining Price Forbes aligns with his experience and offers the opportunity to work within a globally connected organisation focused on technology and insurance development across the region.

"[Price Forbes'] commitment to innovation and the development of technological capabilities is also impressive and it is a real privilege to be tasked with leading the business’s development in the Middle East region,” said Howells.

“With considerable executive and board-level experience, David will be a tremendous asset to Price Forbes, working with our global business units to bring innovative solutions to our regional clients and leverage our global market position," said deputy CEO, Sarah Horler.

As part of the transition, current SEO Tony Saada will step into the role of chairman at Price Forbes Dubai.

"He has been instrumental in the evolution of our business in the region, and we’re delighted he is staying with us in his new role as chair,” added Horler, who acknowledged Saada’s role in overseeing operations and confirmed his continued involvement at the leadership level.
