Kingfisher Insurance, through its classic vehicle brand Peter James Insurance, has introduced a new insurance scheme, Vintage Sports-Car Club Insurance, aimed specifically at members of the Vintage Sports-Car Club (VSCC).

The scheme, launched on May 1, is designed to provide tailored insurance coverage for vintage car enthusiasts, offering benefits to enhance both the ownership experience and participation in club activities.

The policy offers exclusive rates for VSCC members, with additional discounts based on the length of membership. Key features include agreed value coverage, member-to-member cover, salvage retention, UK and European breakdown cover, and tools and spare parts cover (up to £3,000). It also provides a self-repair option, legal expenses cover, laid-up cover and limited mileage discounts.

A key aspect of the scheme is its focus on younger enthusiasts, aligning with the VSCC’s goal of attracting a new generation of vintage car owners. Kingfisher Insurance and Peter James Insurance are supporting this initiative, which includes projects such as the Borrow a Classic scheme, aimed at introducing younger people to classic motoring.

Kingfisher Insurance, a specialist broker in the UK market, has also been active in forming partnerships with other classic vehicle clubs. This new collaboration with the VSCC follows a successful 2024 for Peter James Insurance, which saw the introduction of new schemes with organisations like the MG Car Club, Morgan Sports Car Club, Royal Enfield Owners Club, and the 2CVGB Club.

In addition to the VSCC partnership, Kingfisher Insurance has launched another scheme for members of the British Two Stroke Club, which has been available since January. The scheme offers benefits tailored to the club’s members, which also includes member-to-member cover, free helmet and leathers cover and self-repair options, among others.

The VSCC, established in 1934, is one of the largest and most recognised motoring clubs worldwide, focused on pre-war cars. It was recently named Club of the Year at The National Car Club Awards.

Tania Brown, Club Secretary at the VSCC, commented that the new insurance scheme adds value to club membership and supports the club’s efforts to attract new members to vintage motoring. She also noted the important role that Peter James Insurance plays in helping to grow the community.

“We believe in growing our community and introducing new faces to the world of vintage motoring, and this scheme, and the support from Peter James Insurance, is crucial to achieving this aim,” Brown said.
