Willis Re has appointed Nick Pritchard (pictured above) as reinsurance broker in its Bermuda office, the latest in a series of hires as the firm builds out its property treaty and retrocession capabilities in the Atlantic reinsurance hub.

Pritchard brings more than 20 years of experience spanning underwriting and broking. He has been based in Bermuda since 2009 and has held senior positions at several carriers and brokers on the island.

He most recently served as interim chief underwriting officer at Conduit Re, a role he held for 11 months before a stint as underwriting portfolio and alternative capital manager. Prior to that, he spent two years as managing director at Aon in Bermuda.

Pritchard also served as SVP and head of property treaty at Vantage Risk Companies and held leadership roles at Neon and Validus Reinsurance, where he spent 12 years in positions including underwriter and AlphaCat Managers VP. He began his career at Talbot Underwriting in London as a catastrophe modeling analyst.

He holds a degree in business finance and economics from Durham University and completed an executive leadership program at the University of Oxford's Said Business School.

Lucy Clarke, Willis Re board member, said Pritchard's "technical expertise, strong market relationships, and collaborative approach make him a valuable addition to our broking team." She added that his experience "will enhance our capabilities and help us deliver even greater value to our clients."

Willis Re said Pritchard's background in structuring and pricing reinsurance placements, combined with his experience building operational processes in startup environments, will support the team's property treaty and retrocession broking.

Pritchard's move had been anticipated since August 2025, when Conduit Re confirmed he was expected to step down from the interim CUO role in February. The reinsurer subsequently appointed Stephen Postlewhite as permanent CUO effective January 2026.

Pritchard is part of a broader recruitment push by Willis Re in Bermuda that has drawn roughly 80 hires from Guy Carpenter since mid-2025, including the rival broker's former Bermuda CEO John Fletcher and property retrocession specialist Richard Keegan.
