SiriusPoint has appointed David Turner (pictured above) as global head of claims, effective Oct. 7. Turner will be based in London and report to Scott Egan, chief executive officer.

In this newly created position, Turner will lead the company’s global claims function, overseeing teams in both London and New York.

Turner joins SiriusPoint from Fidelis, where he served as group head of claims. At Fidelis, he was responsible for expanding the claims function across major underwriting hubs. Before his tenure at Fidelis, Turner was global claims director at MS Amlin, where he led the development and implementation of a global claims strategy. He also previously worked in the claims team at Willis.

Commenting on the appointment, Egan said, “SiriusPoint’s claims function has evolved considerably over the last few years as we enhance the claims experience for our partners and clients. David is a highly experienced claims leader, and I am looking forward to welcoming him to the team to oversee the development of our global offering.”

SiriusPoint also made several other recent leadership and strategic appointments. In May, the company named Eleanor Gibson as international chief underwriting officer. Gibson, who joined from AIG, is based in London and oversees underwriting and portfolio management activities across SiriusPoint’s international operations.

The company also named Chris Fenn as global head of marine in the same month, further strengthening its marine insurance capabilities. Fenn, who previously led the marine team for SiriusPoint International in London, now oversees the company’s global marine portfolio, including offerings in cargo, ports, liability, and niche sectors.

Additional appointments in the marine division include Anthony Grew as head of cargo and Giulia Argano as marine claims adjuster, both based in London.

In addition, SiriusPoint appointed Philip Enan as chief strategy and corporate development officer. Enan, who previously served as executive vice president of global corporate development at Chubb, now oversees strategy development and investment initiatives for SiriusPoint, reporting directly to Egan.
