Aon plc has named Mehmet Shukri as head of UK client services for its reinsurance solutions business, effective immediately. He was previously deputy head of UK claims and client services for the same unit.
Shukri, who is based in London, will report to Steve Clark, Aon’s global head of claims and client services advocacy. In his new role, he will focus on advancing client services in line with Aon’s global reinsurance solutions advocacy strategy, with an emphasis on providing clients with specialized claims support.
Leonora Siccardi, chief claims officer for reinsurance solutions at Aon, said clients are placing greater importance on claims and accounting services.
“Mehmet’s appointment reflects our continued investment in leaders who are dedicated to delivering the best experience aligned to their needs, as well as developing new and innovative solutions in a challenging macroeconomic and geopolitical environment,” Clark said.
Aon’s reinsurance solutions business offers treaty and facultative reinsurance, structured solutions, catastrophe modeling, retrocession, and capital markets access through insurance-linked securities.
Shukri’s appointment follows a series of leadership moves within Aon’s reinsurance operations. Recently, the firm named Andrew Laing as CEO of UK reinsurance while retaining his role as global CEO for facultative reinsurance, and Rupert Moore took on the role of Asia-Pacific CEO, relocating to Singapore.
Earlier this year, Aon also restructured its global reinsurance solutions leadership. Alfonso Valera was named CEO of International, overseeing the UK, EMEA, and APAC regions, while Steve Hofmann became CEO of the Americas. George Attard assumed the role of global head of strategy, and Tomas Novotny was appointed chairman of international reinsurance.
In the Asia market, Soeren Soltysiak was appointed CEO of reinsurance solutions for the region, effective April 1. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for leading strategy across treaty, facultative, analytics, and operations, reporting to George Attard.
