Gallagher Re has promoted Nicolas Rincé (pictured above) to president for its France, Belgium and Luxembourg region, sharpening the reinsurance broker’s leadership focus in one of continental Europe’s most developed insurance markets.
The move places Rincé at the center of Gallagher Re’s regional reinsurance strategy as clients navigate changing capital and risk conditions.
Gallagher Re said Rincé has been central to leading client-facing teams and delivering its growth plan across the three markets. In his new role, he will work alongside regional chairman Emmanuel Dubreuil and France BeLux president Thierry Myara, within the broker’s wider EMEA structure.
The promotion builds on a FraBeLux leadership reshuffle that dates back to mid‑2025 and is no longer new to the market. At that time, Dubreuil was appointed regional chairman, while Rincé joined the following month as directeur général, taking charge of day‑to‑day operations and client teams.
Since then, the three‑person leadership group has been responsible for executing Gallagher Re’s regional strategy and maintaining key relationships.
As part of that 2025 transition, Gallagher Re also expanded its broking and analytics bench in FraBeLux, adding nine professionals and reinforcing its Brussels office under Belgium branch head Philippe de Longueville. Those earlier hires are already embedded and now form part of the platform that Nicolas Rincé will oversee as president.
Hamish Dowlen, managing director and head of EMEA, has said in previous commentary that Nicolas Rincé brings experience in financial optimization, risk management and transformation services across the insurance sector.
Industry data shows France ranks among Europe’s largest insurance markets by premium volume, with Belgium and Luxembourg generating sizable business relative to their population and economic size. Luxembourg’s role as a hub for captives and cross‑border business has also grown in recent years, making FraBeLux a strategic cluster for global reinsurance intermediaries.
Against that backdrop, Gallagher Re has been refining its international structure. In changes announced in 2025, the broker divided international oversight between client leadership and product coordination, naming Alkis Tsimaratos as president, international, and appointing Alex Ntelekos to lead international products and practices. Those moves are now established, but provide context for the latest appointment, which is seen internally as a regional expression of Gallagher Re’s broader reinsurance strategy.
Rincé has served as CEO for the FraBeLux region at Gallagher Re since July 2025. Before joining the reinsurance broker, he was deputy general manager of insurance at Mutuelle Nationale des Hospitaliers, deputy CEO at Mutex and chief capital officer at Wakam.
Earlier in his career, he spent nine years at La Banque Postale in CFO roles across non‑life and protection insurance, and previously worked at Europ Assistance, AXA and Michelin.
He studied actuarial science at Pierre and Marie Curie University and holds qualifications from ESSEC Business School, a background that Gallagher Re believes will underpin its data‑driven reinsurance advisory in FraBeLux.
