Gallagher Re has split international oversight between client leadership and product coordination, naming Alkis Tsimaratos (pictured left) as president, international and assigning Alex Ntelekos (pictured right) to head - international products and practices.
Tsimaratos will focus on senior client relationships across international markets, working with clients and reinsurers and aligning reinsurance solutions with client requirements across the firm’s network.
“I am pleased to step into the role of President for Gallagher Re International, and glad to be more actively back after a break required for personal reasons,” said Tsimaratos. “I look forward to (Re)connecting with teams, clients and reinsurers across international; hearing about their ambitions; and helping them achieve those.”
His background includes senior positions at Willis Re, where he held roles including managing director for EMEA West/South and head of Europe West, covering regional strategy, implementation with local leadership teams, and business development. Earlier, he worked at AXA Re, leading risk management activities including economic capital valuation, retrocession strategy, and business planning.
Within Gallagher Re, he previously held roles including managing director for international products and practices and managing director, head of EMEA West.
Ntelekos will oversee and support the products and practices platform across the international network while continuing as regional director, head of Turkey and Greece, a position he has held since July 2023 in London.
Before joining Gallagher Re, he spent more than a decade at the Bank of England in insurance supervision, including a senior manager role. Earlier, he worked as a senior catastrophe risk analyst at Willis Re.
He also previously led public-private solutions, EMEA within Gallagher Re.
The appointments follow a series of staffing and structural moves across Gallagher Re’s operations. The firm recently named Steven Housse as facultative reinsurance leader for North America, with responsibility for facultative strategy across property & casualty and specialty lines. Additional hires in the US property facultative team, including Kevin Ingram and Lauren Mathis, were also announced earlier in 2026.
