Acrisure Re has named Dan Morrison (pictured above) as senior vice president, effective immediately. Morrison will be based in New York and will report to Michael Cross, president of Acrisure Re North America.
In this position, Morrison will support Acrisure’s US delegated underwriting team, a significant client for Acrisure Re. He will focus on expanding carrier and reinsurer relationships and advancing program development within the organization.
Morrison will work with business leaders to deliver portfolio and customized reinsurance solutions that align with Acrisure’s growth strategy.
Morrison previously served as director of capacity solutions at Millennial Specialty Solutions (MSI) since 2021. Before joining MSI, he held roles at Trisura Insurance Company as senior program underwriter and financial analyst.
“We’re delighted to welcome Dan to Acrisure Re,” Cross said. “His depth of experience and leadership in client management and program development make him an outstanding addition to our team. Dan’s appointment reinforces our commitment to supporting Acrisure’s growth ambitions and delivering innovative, high-quality reinsurance solutions that create long-term value for our partners.”
Morrison’s appointment comes as Acrisure Re continues to strengthen its leadership team and capabilities in key markets. In March, the company expanded its Corporate Advisory & Solutions (ARCAS) division with several senior hires in London, including Lauren Johnson as head of funds at Lloyd’s (FAL), Assad Negyal as head of pricing, David Ryan as head of exposure management, and Lucas He as vice president, retrospective solutions.
These additions, all reporting to global managing director Ben Canagaretna, are part of a broader effort to enhance Acrisure Re’s expertise in funds, pricing, exposure, and retrospective solutions, particularly within the Lloyd’s market.
The company has also taken steps to broaden its international reach. In September, Acrisure London Wholesale (ALW), a division of Acrisure, entered into a strategic broking partnership with Israel’s Madanes, the country’s largest re/insurance broker.
In line with its focus on innovation and analytics, Acrisure Re recently launched AcrisureIQ PRO, a portfolio optimization tool that leverages predictive analytics and machine learning to help clients manage risk and improve underwriting outcomes.
