Aon has appointed Chulan Zhan (pictured above) as senior consultant in the Reinsurance Strategy and Technology Group (STG) – Modelling team within Aon Life Solutions, based in Singapore.

In her new role, Zhan will be responsible for the development, onboarding, and business development activities of PathWise, Aon’s actuarial modeling platform.

Zhan joins Aon from Pacific Life Re, where she spent over five years in Singapore. Most recently, she served as pricing actuary, supporting pricing and delivering quotations across the India, China, and Southeast Asia markets.

Prior to her time at Pacific Life Re, Zhan worked as an undergraduate research assistant at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Her research focused on catastrophe bonds, insurance-linked securities pricing trends, and the impact of cybersecurity on the economy and related insurance developments.

Zhan’s earlier experience includes internships at Munich Re, AXA, and HSBC Insurance Singapore. At Munich Re, she supported financially motivated reinsurance across Southeast Asia, working on capital frameworks, benchmarking, and reserve calculations.

Zhan holds a double bachelor’s degree in accountancy and business from Nanyang Technological University, graduating with highest distinction in both disciplines.

Elsewhere, Aon also recently introduced a new leadership structure within its reinsurance solutions division, appointing four senior executives to oversee strategic and regional operations.

Alfonso Valera was named CEO of international for reinsurance, Steve Hofmann as CEO of Americas for reinsurance, George Attard as global head of strategy for reinsurance, and Tomas Novotny as chairman of international for reinsurance.

In April, Aon also named Soeren Soltysiak as Asia CEO for reinsurance solutions, with Soltysiak now leading strategy across the Asia-Pacific region, including treaty, facultative, analytics, and operations. The firm also promoted Musa Adlan to managing director for Asia, expanded the life and health reinsurance leadership, and appointed new co-heads for retrocession APAC and specialty for the region.

In addition, Aon has strengthened its reinsurance client services function with four appointments in April.
