Aon has appointed Luke Reeve-Tucker (pictured above) as head of facultative reinsurance for Latin America, effective May 27.

In his expanded role, Reeve-Tucker will maintain oversight of the Caribbean facultative reinsurance portfolio and assume responsibility for strategy, client engagement, and solution development across both the Caribbean and Latin America.

His mandate includes advancing the growth of Aon’s facultative reinsurance platforms in these regions, leveraging his industry experience and market relationships.

Reeve-Tucker is a Chartered Insurance Broker with extensive experience in facultative reinsurance throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Before joining Aon in 2021, he held a similar leadership role at Willis Towers Watson, where he led facultative operations for Central America and the Caribbean.

Reeve-Tucker will remain based in Miami. He will continue reporting to Steve Bonifacio, CEO of Caribbean reinsurance at Aon. He will also work closely with Paula Ferreira, CEO of Latin America reinsurance, and Andrew Laing, Aon’s global head of facultative reinsurance.

The Latin American facultative reinsurance market is marked by a wide range of risk types and varied levels of insurance penetration, with Aon taking steps to expand its presence in key countries such as Brazil and Peru through recent leadership appointments.

According to Aon's mid-year reinsurance market report, facultative reinsurance demand has been increasing in Latin America, driven by rising catastrophe exposures and a need for customized risk solutions.

“Luke is a proven and respected leader in this space, and we are delighted that he has accepted this expanded role to also lead our Latin America facultative reinsurance operations. Luke will use his technical background and experience to drive new and innovative capital solutions for Aon’s clients, and shape better business decisions,” Laing said.

Elsewhere, Aon also bolstered its reinsurance foothold in Bermuda with the appointment of Amanda Lyons as CEO of the division effective July 1.
