Insurance customers dealing with the financial impact of Cyclone Vaianu may be able to pause their premium payments with Fidelity Life.
The offer is available to eligible customers in Northland, Waikato including Coromandel, Whakatāne, Tauranga, Western Bay of Plenty, and Hawke’s Bay. Those facing financial hardship directly caused by the cyclone can apply to have their premiums waived for up to three months. That relief may be extended for another three months, while their insurance protection stays in place.
The move adds to the support already being offered to eligible Fidelity Life customers affected by earlier severe weather in other parts of the country. Those areas include the Ōtorohanga and Waipā Districts, the Manawatū-Whanganui region, Banks Peninsula Ward, and parts of the Far North and Whangārei Districts.
“We know Cyclone Vaianu has caused widespread disruption across parts of New Zealand, and for many families the financial impact adds another layer of stress during an already difficult time,” Fidelity Life chief commercial officer Bronwyn Kirwan said.
“This premium relief is about giving our customers some breathing room, while ensuring their insurance cover remains in place. It’s one way we can help people focus on getting back on their feet without worrying about their protection.”
Customers who want to access the relief can contact their financial adviser or email Fidelity Life at assistance@fidelitylife.co.nz.
