Sedgwick has named Eugenio Occhionero (pictured right) as assistant vice president for TPA Specialty Lines in Canada, a move that aligns with the company’s ongoing organizational shifts within its Canadian operations.

The appointment signals Sedgwick’s intent to enhance service delivery across complex liability segments.

Taking on a national leadership post, Occhionero will support the TPA unit’s operations, including account management and client service for specialty lines.

“I’m thrilled to help the company to continue to meet and surpass its goals,” said Occhionero, expressing his eagerness to contribute to Sedgwick’s ongoing efforts in Toronto and beyond. “I look forward to adding my account management and claims adjustment experience to these efforts and working with such skilled professionals.”

According to Sedgwick Canada’s chief operating officer Kumar Siva, Occhionero’s professional background and client-facing experience align with the company’s operational needs and the service expectations of its clients.

“By adding his expertise to our fast-paced account management team, I have no doubt our clients will be in good hands and their claims administration needs will be very well met,” said Siva.

Occhionero brings over 20 years of experience in insurance, with a professional background focused on general liability, bodily injury claims, and other complex exposures.

His work has spanned the public and private sectors, including government, manufacturing, and agriculture. He previously held leadership roles at multiple insurance organizations where he handled loss scenarios and worked closely with clients on claim strategies and resolutions.

Occhionero is licensed across all Canadian provinces and holds a risk assessment certification from Algonquin College in Ottawa.

Occhionero’s appointment follows Sedgwick Canada’s naming of Paul Burns last year as Vice President of UK TPA operations and client services, part of a continued alignment of leadership roles across its global TPA network.

Sedgwick operates across 80 countries, with services including claims administration, loss adjusting, benefits administration, and product recall. It incorporates AI-enabled platforms in service delivery and decision-making processes.

Earlier this month, Sedgwick appointed Sean Hobson as senior vice president of national sales for its Canadian operations.
