Several insurers have announced key leadership changes as they expand their operational and strategic capabilities.
Kang will succeed Oskar Buchauer (pictured above, right), who is stepping down after 27 years at Allianz. Buchauer joined Allianz AG in 1998 and held senior roles across the group, including group chief actuary and CFO.
Kang has held several actuarial and leadership positions since joining AGCS in 2015 and most recently served as CFO of Allianz Re.
Westland Insurance Group has named Kanaris Paraskevopoulos as its new chief information officer (CIO). He will lead the company’s technology strategy, with a focus on data enablement and artificial intelligence.
Paraskevopoulos was most recently executive vice president and chief digital and information officer at Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI). He will oversee the alignment of Westland’s technology platforms with its business objectives.
HDI Global SE’s Canadian branch has appointed Derek Reedie as head of Engineering and Construction, effective June 30.
Reedie brings over 25 years of insurance industry experience, including work in general P&C, construction-focused portfolios, and large-scale placements.
