The insurance sector has seen a series of senior leadership changes, with Moody’s, RT Specialty, LexisNexis Risk Solutions and InsurePay each announcing new appointments or promotions.

Moody's deepens insurance commitment

Moody's Corporation has appointed Simon Harris (pictured above) to lead its insurance initiative, a strategic effort to expand the firm's presence in the $8 trillion global insurance market.

Harris will collaborate with Moody's Analytics' Insurance Solutions group and Moody's Ratings to unify data, modeling and analytics, aiming to deliver stronger insights for insurers.

Harris has been with Moody's for 27 years and previously co-led the Global Financial Institutions Group. His track record in strategy and research makes him a central figure in the company's push to be seen as the leading provider of intelligence for insurers managing complex risk.

RT Specialty promotes four in Hamilton office

RT Specialty’s Environmental and Construction Professional practice has announced four promotions in its Hamilton, New Jersey, office. Joss Guatemala, Evan Quinn and Stefania Ruggieri were promoted to senior account managers, while Cassidy Ruk advanced to account manager.

Guatemala, who joined in 2023, has quickly established herself as a strong contributor on the Southeast Team. Quinn, with the firm since 2021, has developed niche expertise in storage tank coverage and complex environmental casualty risks. Ruggieri, who joined in 2023 with more than six years of underwriting experience, has since earned her CPCU designation and strengthened RT’s relationships with retail brokers. Meanwhile, Ruk, who started as an intern, transitioned to full-time in 2024 and has already become a key support for clients, it was stated.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions names DMV solutions leader

LexisNexis Risk Solutions Government has named Katie James as head of Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) Solutions, a role that places her at the center of digital transformation for agencies nationwide. James will lead development of fraud prevention, payment processing and vital records modernization tools.

With more than two decades of experience in government and technology, James has overseen large-scale modernization projects for DMVs and public safety organisations. She currently serves as treasurer of the Industry Advisory Board of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and has helped shape national standards for DMV operations.

InsurePay brings in new CEO

Insurance payment solutions provider InsurePay has appointed Pat Davis as chief executive officer.

Davis previously founded and scaled Utilant, a global provider of survey management software for property and casualty insurers. His appointment is backed by investor support from FinTop Capital and Aquiline, who see InsurePay as a growth platform in billing and payments technology.

Davis is expected to accelerate InsurePay’s development of Pay-As-You-Go billing technology, which aligns premiums more closely with actual payroll exposure in workers’ compensation policies. The company is also investing in AI-driven capabilities to support underwriting, audits and premium accuracy.
