AXIS Capital, Arch Insurance UK and B.P. Marsh & Partners have unveiled senior appointments and board changes, indicating continued recruitment activity and leadership restructuring across the UK insurance sector.
B.P. Marsh & Partners Plc confirmed internal changes to support its long-term succession planning. Brian Marsh OBE, founder of the company in 1989 and executive chairman since its 2006 listing, has transitioned into the role of non-executive chairman.
Dan Topping (pictured left) has assumed the position of chief executive officer. Topping joined the company in 2007 and became a director in 2011, later taking responsibility for portfolio and investment strategy in 2016 when he became chief investment officer.
Further adjustments include Alice Foulk (pictured right) moving from managing director to chief operating officer, while Francesca Chappell continues as chief finance officer.
AXIS Capital Holdings Limited appointed Lewis Edwards to the newly created role of head of delegated strategy, global markets.
Based in London and reporting to Sara Farrup, head of global markets, Edwards is responsible for the development and oversight of coverholder and managing general agent business within global markets.
“Lewis brings stellar market experience and knowledge of the specialty delegated space as well as a deep understanding of how to succeed in a competitive trading environment,” said Farrup. “Developing our delegated portfolio through binding authorities with carefully selected and trusted broker, coverholder, and MGA partnerships, complementary to our open market underwriting strategy, will be key to achieving long-term growth.”
Meanwhile, Arch Insurance UK regional division has announced three senior underwriting appointments within its motor fleet and motor trade teams.
Paul Fincham is now senior new business fleet underwriter, responsible for new business activity across the South and Thames Valley. He joins from AXA and reports to regional manager Janice Mullan.
Aaron Hobbs, based in Southampton, has been appointed senior existing business fleet underwriter with responsibility for fleet renewal business across the same regions. He joins from Aviva and also reports to Mullan.
Helen Williams has been named senior motor trade underwriter, operating from Manchester within the national underwriting hub and reporting to NUH team manager Kimberely Bloor. Williams previously worked at Geo Agriculture.
Stuart Danskin, director of underwriting for the UK regional division, said the three appointees have experience and technical capability that will support Arch’s presence in motor fleet and motor trade markets, while maintaining broker relationships and delivering underwriting solutions for mutual clients.
